Health & Genetic Guarantee

This agreement is between Cotton Grove Cavaliers (“Seller”) and the purchaser identified below (“Buyer”) for the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy described in this agreement.

Cotton Grove is committed to raising healthy, well-cared-for Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies and providing families with clear information about their puppy’s health before going home.

Health at Time of Sale

To the best of the Seller’s knowledge, the puppy is in good health at the time of transfer. Before going home, the puppy will receive:

  • A veterinary health examination

  • Age-appropriate vaccinations

  • Deworming as appropriate

  • A health record documenting veterinary care provided while in Cotton Grove’s care

The Buyer is encouraged to establish care with a licensed veterinarian promptly after bringing the puppy home.

Initial Health Guarantee

The Buyer must have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours / 3 business days of receiving the puppy.

If, during that examination, the puppy is diagnosed with a serious contagious or infectious illness that was reasonably determined to have been present at the time of sale, the Buyer must notify Cotton Grove promptly and provide written documentation from the examining veterinarian.

Upon review of the veterinary documentation, Cotton Grove will work with the Buyer according to the terms of this guarantee.

This guarantee does not cover routine veterinary care, vaccinations, preventative medications, minor or common conditions, or illnesses contracted after the puppy leaves Cotton Grove.

2-Year Genetic Health Guarantee

Cotton Grove provides a 2-year genetic health guarantee against serious congenital or hereditary conditions that significantly affect the puppy’s quality of life.

If the puppy is diagnosed with a qualifying congenital or hereditary condition within two years of the date of purchase, the Buyer must provide Cotton Grove with written documentation from a licensed veterinarian describing:

  • The diagnosis

  • The clinical findings

  • The effect of the condition on the puppy

  • The veterinarian’s professional opinion regarding whether the condition is congenital or hereditary

Cotton Grove may request a second veterinary opinion before approving a claim.

If a qualifying congenital or hereditary condition is confirmed under this guarantee, Cotton Grove will replace the puppy with a puppy of comparable value.

If the puppy dies and a congenital or hereditary condition is suspected, Cotton Grove may require a necropsy performed by a licensed veterinarian to establish the cause of death before a claim is approved.

Conditions Not Covered

This guarantee does not cover:

  • Injury, accident, abuse, neglect, or improper care after the puppy leaves Cotton Grove

  • Illnesses contracted after the puppy leaves Cotton Grove

  • Dental expenses or routine dental abnormalities

  • Cosmetic characteristics or changes in color or markings

No guarantee can be made regarding a puppy’s eventual adult size, weight, coat, markings, personality, reproductive ability, or show potential.

Transfer of Ownership

This health guarantee applies only to the original Buyer and the puppy identified in this agreement. The guarantee is not transferable if the dog is sold, transferred, or rehomed to another owner.

Limitation of Guarantee
